68. William Hamilton: Original drawings for Tartuffe by Molière
The cartoonist, humor writer, and playright William Hamilton is well known for his drawings in the New Yorker. His liquid line and quick capturing of character and expression provide perfect foil for the play. For Tartuffe, the sixty-eighth publication of the Arion Press, Hamilton created seven original drawings, wittily satirizing the play's characters.
